Sureewan Allahverdian (Jam) is the owner of Thai Chili Jam Restaurant. Jam has toured the “best Thai restaurants” all over Thailand and the US. She has many secret ingredients in her dishes. Thai Chili Jam’s sauce is made from her mom’s original recipe, with only the freshest ingredients. Jam prepares the original sauce the old fashioned way to ensure the characteristic taste and maintain the high quality. The taste of each dish is of the utmost importance to her. The secret is in the ingredients. Thai dishes must combine spicy, salty, sour and sometimes bitter flavors to create a uniquely harmonious taste. Jam believes that Thai cooking is a colorful form of art.

Thai Chili Jam offers you a variety of fresh ingredients and quality food. Whenever possible, we buy local ingredients that are in season. We are proud to say our food contains authentic Thai flavors, healthy ingredients and is vegetarian friendly. All dishes are cooked fresh to order and are free of Trans fat and MSG.

Come check out our new restaurant in downtown Portland and experience the true taste of Thailand!

More about Jam… Growing up in Thailand, Jam shared a love of food with her family who owned a restaurant. She has fond memories of cooking with her mom who passed down traditional family recipes and shared wisdom for the way healthy dishes are prepared. As a young adult, Jam pursued a career in computer technology where she gained ten years of experience teaching and training computer business at a vocational college in Thailand. While in this role, she was afforded the opportunity to travel throughout Thailand which, to her delight, allowed her to sample all the best fare from each distinct region of her country. One day, she fell in love with an American. Eventually, they were married in Thailand and she moved with him to Portland in 2004. Initially, she continued to pursue her career in the tech field by earning several computer networking and administration certifications from Microsoft and Portland State University. During her time at PSU, Jam was pulled back to her love of traditional Thai cuisine and the people who enjoy eating it. She worked in several Thai restaurants throughout the Portland area and is now proudly pursuing her dream and family legacy by opening Thai Chili Jam!
